Our Main Course: General English for Work and Life (GEWL)
Our main English mini-group programme, General English for Work and Life, is ideal for learners who want steady progress and personalised attention.
- Flexible course length: Study from 60 hours up to a full academic year.
- Clear progress: Complete one CEFR level (A1–C2) in one academic year.
- Small groups: Maximum of four students for maximum speaking practice.
- Mode options: Choose either face-to-face or live online lessons via Zoom or Teams. (Please note: we do not offer hybrid attendance for mixed in-person/online groups.)
How the Course Works
To complete one CEFR level, you’ll attend 30 weeks of classroom learning:
- Autumn/Winter term: 15 weeks
- Winter/Spring term: 15 weeks
Courses are highly interactive, with a strong focus on real communication. Our native-speaker teachers use the target language as much as possible, helping you think — and speak — in English from day one.
Assessment and Certification
We believe in measurable progress:
- Levels B1–C2: Students may take an internationally recognised LanguageCert exam at the end of the course.
- Levels A1–A2: Students complete the ILS End-of-Level Test to mark their achievement.
All our courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards, so you know exactly where you stand.
