English for Refugees – Help Us Keep Changing Lives
Since Spring 2022, our English for Refugees (E4R) programme has transformed lives.
What began as an emergency 6-week course for five groups of women fleeing war in Ukraine has grown into an ongoing programme that gives hundreds of refugees the language skills they need to build new futures.
- 2022/23: 6 groups
- 2023/24: 7 groups
- 2024/25: 11 groups
- 2025/26: 11+ groups planned (subject to funding)

Why These Courses Matter
English is not just a language – it’s a bridge to safety, employment, and dignity.
Our courses are designed to:
- Improve basic English skills – so participants can manage everyday life.
- Build employability – teaching the language and skills needed to apply for jobs and succeed in English-speaking workplaces.
- Enable qualifications – preparing refugees to achieve an internationally recognised ESOL certificate.
Our Goal for 2025/26
We need your help to:
- Extend our reach to the whole of the country, so no current student is left behind.
- Open our doors to a new intake of students in January 2026.
Your support directly funds teaching, books and materials for people who are rebuilding their lives.
How Your Donation Helps
- €400 – provides books for one group for a full academic year.
- €800 – sponsors one student for a full academic year.
- €6,600 – funds one entire group for a full academic year.
We aim to form at least 11 groups in 2025/26.
